In this guide, we’ll walk you through a delicious method to create kratom butter, from gathering the right ingredients to storing it for future use. Let’s get started!

Understanding Basics Of Mitragyna Speciosa

Before moving on to the recipe, let’s first get to know a little bit about Kratom. For those of you who are new to this natural herb, Kratom Strains come from the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa tree, which grows naturally in Southeast Asia.

It has become well-known for its potential wellness benefits, which have been recognized for centuries in traditional practices.

This plant is valued for its stimulating and soothing qualities. Kratom’s effects come from active compounds called alkaloids—mainly Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxy mitragynine.

Making Kratom Butter At Home: What You’ll Need

Here’s a list of ingredients you’re going to need for at-home Kratom butter.

  • 2 cups of butter (4 sticks)
  • 14 grams of kratom powder or leaves
  • One medium-sized pot
  • One whisk

  • One cheesecloth (for straining)
  • One ½ cups of water
  • One extra cup of water (to add gradually while simmering)
  • One butter mould or any airtight container (for storing)

Step 1

Start by melting four sticks of butter in a medium-sized pot over low heat, along with 1 ½ cups of water. Once the butter has fully melted, add the loose-leaf kratom and stir gently with a beater to blend everything.

Step 2

Keep your butter, water, and kratom mixture on low steam for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Make sure the heat stays low to avoid damaging the kratom’s alkaloids.

You should only see tiny bubbles while it simmers. If it starts boiling too much, reduce the heat to prevent burning.

To replace the water that evaporates during simmering, add about ¼ cup of water every 30 minutes.

Step 3

Once the 3 hours are up, it’s time to strain the butter. Place a cheesecloth over a glass bowl, making sure it’s pulled tight. Carefully pour the mixture through the cloth, then gently squeeze out all the butter.

Step 4

Let your butter Kratom sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour so it can cool down before pouring it into your mould.

Step 5

  • In the Fridge: Keep your kratom butter in an airtight container in the fridge, where it will stay fresh for up to 8 weeks.
  • In the Freezer: For longer storage, use a freezer-safe container or vacuum bag to keep air out. Your butter will be good for about six months.

Creative Ways To Use Kratom Butter

Here are some fun ways to get the most out of your recipe.

Baking: Add kratom almond butter to your cookies or muffins to give them a unique flavor while enjoying the benefits of Kratom. Just be mindful of how much you use, as kratom can be strong.

Spreads: Try kratom peanut butter on your toast or pancakes to give a tasty, herbal touch to your morning meal.

Teas: Mix a spoonful of kratom butter into your tea for a calming drink that combines the best of both.

Calculating The Amount Of Mitragynine In Your Kratom Butter

To figure out how much Mitragynine is in each tablespoon of your kratom butter, follow these simple steps:

First, calculate how much Mitragynine is in the whole batch of kratom. For our example, we have used 14 grams (14,000 mg) of kratom with a Mitragynine content of 1.3%.

Here’s how to get the total Mitragynine:

Total Mitragynine = 14,000 mg x 0.013 = 182 mg

We’ve used four sticks of butter, which is equal to 2 cups. Since 1 cup has 16 tablespoons, 2 cups make 32 tablespoons.

Now, divide the total Mitragynine by the number of tablespoons:

Mitragynine per tablespoon = 182 mg / 32 = 5.69 mg

So, each tablespoon of your kratom butter will have about 5.69 mg of Mitragynine.

Feel free to adjust the numbers according to your own recipe and kratom strain!
